For all chocolate lovers, a visit to a cocoa bean plantation is always a unique moment. Our pastry chefs located in Asia have tasted this privilege by visiting the processing centre of the Vietcacao sector which supplies Chocolaterie de l’Opéra with the cocoa beans from the Mekonga® dark chocolate couverture. Produced with a minimum of 70% cocoa, this Pure Plantations couverture chocolate has very distinctive aromas: notes of citrus and dried fruit, a truly aromatic signature. To develop our Mekonga® couverture chocolate, we work in close collaboration with the Vietcacao sector whose goal is to support young disabled people. The post-harvest treatment centre was set up within the school itself to promote their professional integration. Thanks to this valuable initiative, the Vietcacao sector is involved in the development of a fine Vietnamese cocoa while promoting an ethical, solidarity-based organisation.
